What to say about my visit. Visited on a Saturday, peak time, without a reservation. Was highly impressed when they sat us down in their waiting area, where you sit whilst they prepare your table. They came over, took a drinks order and returned a couple minutes with drinks and took our food order. 5 minutes later we were being sat down at our table as they brought out our starter. The starter was absolutely delicious, we had popadoms with a pickle tray And a mixed grill for 2. Portion size was quite good and food was nice. A short 10 minute wait and we were being served our mains. The curries were aromatic, the only negative was that my curry wasn't quite as spicy as I had hoped for it was closer to a medium than the hot advertised. Took a while after eating for me to be able to get someone's attention to receive the bill. Reasonable priced

Recommended by a local we had to go see what the deal was. Sadly I'm not sure it lived up to the hype. Dishes were good but not as tasty s if have liked, and the place was empty... I guess that's what you get for going for a curry on a Wednesday. Be interested to see it on a Friday night. Can't fault the Stücke though... Charming and friendly throughout... Speedy too.

Spice Merchant Yorkshire

14-16 Castlegate, Knaresborough HG5 8AR, UK – 01423 861777

Have been going here for several years and food on this occasion was not up to usual standard. Garlic chilli chicken. Chicken tough and dish on menu says hot, it was mild. Did not complain as it was acceptable, no more than that. Saying that my wife enjoyed her dish. Decor is in need of serious makeover, looking very tired. Service was good though.

I've rewritten this review as we've been a number of times recently and the food, service and atmosphere have been excellent each time! The team are friendly, helpful and attentive, giving great recommendations on the menu. The service is quick but they're happy for you to sit and take your time and enjoy the experience and the food is bang on target. The restaurant is licensed and the prices are pretty good for the area. Give it a go!

Great food and extensive wine list with extremely knowledgeable staff.

Woodland Tandoori

158-158A Hookstone Dr, Harrogate HG2 8PF, UK – 01423 819666

Excellent takeaway. Well priced, and never a bad dish. Good range of options, including plenty of vegetarian choices.

Probably one of the best and most reasonably priced takeaways in Harrogate. Where else can you get a donner on nan for £3.50. Good size portion that would cost £6 - £7 elsewhere. Currys are great value too and some good and different options from the usual types. Delivery is always within the timescale with polite and friendly drivers. Phone orders through as Just Eat will rip you off with a service charge on all orders.

SO! bar and eats

1 Silver St, Knaresborough HG5 8AJ, UK – 01423 863202

Fab bar, great staff and wonderful food! The selection of gin is incredible and I'm enjoying working my way through it!

Nice place. Staff were friendly, helpful and on the ball. There was a large choice of meals but I was disappointed with the food, I thought It was pretty average and mainstream. As we both sat there examining the dishes and trying to figure out how best to break it down into edible pieces, I looked around and saw other people doing the same. They've focused on trying to serve fries in quirky ceramic pint pots or miniature shopping baskets and rendered the dishes impractical to eat. At least if my meal had come in the mini basket but on a regular plate, I could have tipped out the contents and eaten in a conventional way, with a knife and folk, but no, my meal was served in a stupid stainless steel terrine. The chips looked gorgeous, on other people's plates, but I can't review them because they had ran out by the time we were served.

Scarlett's Vintage Tea Rooms

3a Green Dragon Yard, Knaresborough HG5 8AU, UK – 07852 123139

Such a fantastic spot! The Tea Room's owner is really friendly and welcoming. It is a cafe with such a fun style. It has an extensive menu for vegans which I really appreciated. First time I have been anywhere in this style that has such a varied menu for all dietry needs. Perfect for our group of four.

Lovely food - really friendly staff. Very accommodating of children and dogs. The dog even got a little welcoming slice of cheese! Would definitely return. Excellent choice for gluten free also.

Christian's Cafe Bistro

9 Silver St, Knaresborough HG5 8AJ, UK – 01423 866920

Christian's cafe bistro is located upstairs from an antiques shop. It is slightly more expensive than some other cafes in Knaresborough, but is good quality and has some interesting dishes on the menu. We had Sunday brunch, with gypsies eggs (in tomatoes and chorizo), and frittata with salmon and broccoli, followed by chocolate brownie and a fruit and cinnamon scone, which were both delicious! The coffee was great too! Good service! Highly recommended.

Fantastic eggs benedict, try it with crispy bacon, delicious!

The Worlds End

65 Bond End, Knaresborough HG5 9AU, UK – 01423 863221

Nice place plenty of seating room inside and outside good views outside especially. Downside barstaff a bit slow at serving probably due to food ordering. Still a good place to visit.

Always go to this place for something to eat every time we are at the caravan. The food is good pub food with good potions. The pub looks dated but don't let that put you off. The staff are always friendly.

Blind Jacks

19 Market Pl, Knaresborough HG5 8AL, UK – 01423 860475

The finest little pub in Yorkshire! A terrific warm welcome from the landlord, Christian, who has evidently worked his socks off to ensure that the historical aspect of this famous place - named after perhaps THE most talented and astonishing 18th century Yorkshireman - is adequately preserved. Christin, his lovely partner and their cuddly pet pooch have managed to make the pub a haven for locals, but equally appealing to tourists and visitors. An excellent range of craft beers - and the team take their coffee seriously too. A must-visit .

Smashing little pub in the square selling real ale and excellent lagers. Small rooms downstairs and upstairs. Run by a very friendly couple who made our visit worthwhile and enjoyable. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Knaresborough.

The Mitre Inn

4 Station Rd, Knaresborough HG5 9AA, UK – 01423 868948

Myself and my husband went for a drink and decided to eat here too. Food was fantastic and couldn't be faulted. Prices are reasonable, for 3 courses each, 2 pints of coke and a jug of Pimms to share our total bill was £59.45! Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. They also have an extensive Gin menu which I will be going back to try!!

Visited on bank holiday Monday. Although the pub was extremely busy staff were polite and friendly. We were told around an hour and 20 minute wait for food. Which we didn’t mind at all as we were sat outside in the sun. Food arrived well before this time and was delicious! Well done to the bar staff for managing expectations. Lovely spot and a lovely pub! Ooo and a great Gin selection 🍸
