Mother Shipton's Cave

Prophecy Lodge, Harrogate Rd, High Bridge, Knaresborough HG5 8DD, UK – 01423 864600

Lovely place to visit located next to the river. A good size car park is on site. Parking at the time of our visit yesterday was £2 on top of the entry fee. However you can park there all day a visit anywhere nearby within parking distance during their opening hours. Not the cheapest place but didn't spoil our day. We checked online before hand. If there is a theme on, like Robin Hood currently, our 5 year old had fun taking part in the little activities, shooting a child's none violent bow and arrow with Robin Hood, then being given a message scroll to deliver to Maid Marion near the cave, meeting Friar Tuck and a wooden sword fight with The Sheriff. Was fun to watch and great to see the smile on his face. There is also a play area with a long slide, swings, climbing frame, pirate ship in a sand pit, hammocks and a zip wire. With park benches and tables nearby. Take a picnic with you. The walk to the cave is hardly noticeable. It's not flat all the way, and there are steps involved in between so buggies etc beware. We did not have enough time to visit the shop hence can't comment. We visited the river rowing boats on the other side of the river and took one out for an hour. Well worth doing too! There are ice cream parlours, a pub, and restaurants, all by the river. Definitely will return.

A little disappointed that it wasn't a cave as such, more of a hole in the cliff side but still great to see the petrifying Well and the history of the place. A lovely walk and the Robin Hood theme was great for the kids. Plus a huge adventure park. Lovely pub at the end too! Kids loved it.

Jacob Smith Park

Lovely place. Was bequeathed to the locality by the original owners and it's a real gem. We went to walk the dog but any sort of walking, nature watching or picnicking would be perfect.

Brilliant place to come ,run , walk the dog or just clear your mind. Very lucky to have it

Conyngham Hall

52 Bond End, Knaresborough HG5 9AX, UK

Huge car park, well laid out, and decent sized spaces. I imagine it gets very busy in summer, we were here in the winter and there were quite a lot of other people. Decent price, in the winter (I'm not sure if it changes in the summer) £1.20 for up to 4 hours or £1.80 all day.

Bebra Gardens

Bebra Gardens, Knaresborough HG5, UK

Small but lovely gardens. There is a paddling pool as well that is open from spring bank holiday to the first week in September. You just pay attention to steep slope that may cause difficulties for wheelchair users or the elderly

A good park/gardens. Would be nice in summer with the paddling pool in use.
